Bone and Phool, I can hook you both up with a good Canadian outfitter ;).......Gotta admit, after hunting Moose with my buddy here in WA last year and helping him get a bull, then going to Canada this year and being succesful, this Moose hunting thing is a bit addictive.  If I don't draw here in the next couple years, it will be off to Ak for me.

Phool, good luck if you go look for them horns.  That is a tremendous animal you got there, and doing it with a bow, great job!
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.
You are never to old to learn something stupid.

You got me there.  Well let me know if you need any hints in other states.  I think I do Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho for the Mrs. and Colorado.  THen there is always Alaska when you are ready for the big boys.  Its one of the most addictive sports I ahve ever done.  ESPECIALLY with your bow.

I might take you up on that Goldtip.  I think I have a Yukon adventure in the making right now so will have to wait on the bank account on that one.  I want one though to complete the grand slam of moose.

PHOOL:

After reading most of these posts, I have come to 2 conclusions.

1. You are a hell of a hunter.
2. You have developed a cult following on this moose hunt.

Congrats on a great adventure ! Very few hunters would have stuck to their guns when coming this close to the end of the season.

This is what hunting is all about !

Thanks Goldtip. I will never forget the sound it made when it hit, it was a sharp crunching sound. M-Ray pulled the arrow and said it broke the last rib before heading up and into the vitals. I wouldn't have thought my little arrows could do that but the Mathews bow and Beman arrows with a Thunderhead 85 did the trick. I was lucky he bedded down rather than falling over, my arrow is still in whole. The last elk I got was a complete pass through so it should tell you how big these moose are, it only went up to the fletch.

Well thanks Falcon, but I'm just another hunter like everyone else on here. Mark and I were talking while heading out on the last day, was I going to be the first person in 13 years to not harvest a moose in that unit, not something I wanted to be famous for but came oh so close to.

Oh ya, please don't lose that tag Charlie, I am going to frame it :chuckle:

Phool, thanks for the adventure. I've been reading this since the begining and loving it. Takes a man with true respect for the critters to do what you did passing on ones waiting for the one you wanted.  My hats off. Hope you can find the bones to put thing togather.  John
