How would you go about getting points for a sheep hunt permit without getting drawn? :dunno:

 :yeah:

You buy an app and then only apply for ghost points.   You build points with no chance of drawing that year.

Why ? the chance of ever drawing is so slim that you might aswell try every year inless your going out of the country .

Apply in Washington. ;)

Yes, ghost point is the official answer.

Really, why would you want to? Odds are so low that sitting out a year make not be the best move.

I was wanting to wait cause the tags expensive ha and didn't want to chance getting drawn (hopes high on that one). But still want to gain some points on the mean time. . . Still not 100% sure how the special  permits and points work

I'd go ahead and put in for the "point option." You've got to start building points, but if you can't go on the hunt this year, you sure don't want to take a chance and end up drawing it. Just think of it as a $15 donation to the WDFW, out of the kindness of your heart.

You are not likely to ever draw a tag, so why would you throw away one of the few chances you are ever going to have by not applying? If you draw the tag I guarantee you that you will come up with the money.

Yes true coming up with the money if needed definitely wouldn't be a problem. . . Its more so being prepared for the hunt if i were by chance drawn. . . Because Im still new and learning
