honestly its whatever gun i have in my hands (45colt, 45acp, every shotgun gauge, 270 made a mess) even let one of them nasty buzzworms fight with my weed wacker once, snake lost haha

personally though for a committed snake charmer id look for a 22 revolver, find a good used ruger single six or something to that effect, load it with 22 slugs and 22 birdshot capsules

I hear a lot of good about the judge. But my 44 is just about the same.  :dunno: All depends how you load it up. Alter a projectile with shoot? Judge, 44 what's the diff?

Just its head down with a stick and cut it off with a pocket knife. That's what I do.

Gotta love the .22 for wackin rattlers but I would go with a revolver if your going to be using bird shot because some times the rounds wont cycle in a semi auto.

Any kind of revolver would do. They make the shot shell rounds for just about any caliber they make a revolver in. That's probably the one type of round they aren't sold out of right now too. If you got something like a .357 or .44 you could have it as a bear gun too. If your sole concern is snakes, a .22 would be fine. That's one of the great advantages of a revolver over a semi. They're kind of like a shotgun in the sense you can shoot many types of shells through them without having reliability issues. Get a .22 you can shoot subtonics, primer only, blanks, short, longs, long rifles, shot shells, etc, all in the same cylinder is you have enough spots for that many types.

Hey, my favorite caliber is a long handled shovel with the edge filed sharp. Never jams, never runs out of ammo, I can make one jump up and down like a sewing machine at half throttle. Snake Mc nuggets. ff :twocents:

falfire how much are you asking for the Taurus 45. Just curious.

In have a Bond Derringer Cowboy Defender 45 Long Colt/410 shotgun, Top barrel 410 # 6 shot and 45 colt bottom barrel for bigger targets, I had a shell pouch made up that holds five 410 shotgun shells, two 00-buckshot, two # 6 shot, and one deer slug, five hollow-point 45 colt shells. A nice leather on the belt holster.Bond sells a bunch of models or derringers and a whole array of barrels that are interchangable with all of their guns. The are a nice light weight personal defence handgun as well. The gun should be in the $400 range and extra barrels go from $139 to $189. A high quality, very dependable and affordable handgun.
