Lick creek spring bears
« on: April 22, 2013, 03:43:17 PM »
My partner and I headed east on Thursday night for our first spring bear outing. All in all it was a good trip. Lots of elk, deer, turkeys and big horn sheep. Every body seems to look healthy and in good shape!
Especially the GIANT, GIANT bear we put in the spy glass! Man he was a toad! I named him "frank the tank"!
We just couldn't get to the ridge he was on due to the big white drifts we had blocking the road.
We cut tracks of another big bruin in a drainage, but never saw him.
Like I said, it was a good early trip and hopfully we can get closer next weekend!
Sorry, no blood, just an update!

Good luck.  Hope you can find Frank again.  If not his bigger brother!

So far I have not laid eyes on a bear but I am encouraged by your report. Good hunting to you! Hope you enjoy it and can fill your tag with a worthy bruin.

If you spotted frank the tank, why couldnt you hike to him instead of try to drive closer? Either way goodluck

Well........if your familiar with lick creek.....you know some of the canyon depths. This particular spot, was one of those particular canyon depths. It just wasn't going to happen.
