Instead of giving an 8 page in depth detail I thought I'd throw out lil info.I was on the smoothing iron, glassing across to what we call the tailbone. If, I say "if" there was enough time, we would of dropped down into asotin canyon, then to the top of the tailbone (where big bear was) hopfully he found food and stayed a long while, shoot him, drop back into asotin canyon then to the top of canyon to the smoothing iron. I'm guessing a total of 10,000 feet elevation change in what? Less then 2 miles?I'm sure someone here knows? Anyone?I hunt hard bud, the cards just weren't in my favor that day. But now you know where I spotted him, so............go get em'
I know exactly where you were and only a fool or someone who doesn't know the area would walk from the ridge you were on to the "tailbone". It would take a day to get down and back up the other side! You made the right choice, that guy obviously hasn't hunted that area.
