First Turkey Down!
« on: April 23, 2013, 10:18:12 AM »
My 10 year old son shot his first Turkey last Friday in Hunters WA.  I'm trying to post pictures but nothing seems to happen when I hit the post button...  I'll keep trying to throw on his brag picture.  Not sure who was more excited him or me....

Way to go!  My hunting partner and I are trying to get our sons out but neither have much mileage with shooting a shotgun.  What gauge did you use for him, maybe 20?

Thanks for sharing, I can only imagine what a thrill that was for the two of you.

Mossburg 500 Youth 20.  Worked like a charm.  That Tom didn't stand a chance and he nailed him at about 12 yards.

Thats awesome.

I've got a couple buddies that started their kids with the same Mossberg.  My kids have started with a 20 ga.  Remington 870 Jr. which has a one inch shorter lenght of pull than the youth model and an 18" barrel, so its very manageable for beginners.

Congrats again!
