my first turkey
« on: May 08, 2013, 03:00:44 PM »
http://s410.photobucket.com/user/carvermoe45/media/IMG_0086.jpg.html?sort=3&o=1We left Omak after my wife's bird first and we went back to our cabin still on the eastside. Our son came over on thursday,so friday him and I head out early and we stopped and called a few times, but no birds. There are not many in our area so it can be tough. We drive up to a small landing and shut the jeep off.Two minutes later I hear a gobble.so I get set up and call,he gobble's back.Call again and he is coming hot.We see him stick his head up from the jeep trail we just came up.I start clucking softly and he is gobbling like crazy. He finally walks down off the side but out of range,so I soft cluck some more and he comes around some brush and big tree, but a branch is between us.Come on bird three more steps.I soft cluck again and there he is.One more cluck to get him to stick his head up and gobble.Boom my first bird down.It was a great week

Nice bird congrats.
