Times like this I am very proud to be part of such a great community.   I am sitting here on my coffee break trying to catalogue all of the generosity and the tears are just welling up.  Its a good thing I have an office.   Yesterday it was tears of grief and today its something different.  Proud to know so many good people.

I was just telling my wife the same thing. I have welled up with tears of sadness for this loss and of happiness to see the support from our hunting community.

As my wife was writing the check, the announcement of his homecoming was on the news.

We have no community without courageous men like Aaron standing in the gap.  A privilege to stand with his family in this way.  Prayers

Which news agency?  I'm trying to see if the Patriot Guard Riders will be meeting his return at Dover AFB.  If so, I am going to go and stand in the flag line or provide an escort.

 :yeah:
I really don't have words for how I feel.  By happen chance I had one interaction with Aaron via pm.  He sent an extremely long PM to me by accident (4/10/13).  I replied with humor and advised he sent his pm to the wrong member.  He replied and then said,

"Oops your right.  Thanks for letting me know.  Could you send that message back to me so I can send it to the right guy.  That took forever typing that out on my phone

Aaron."

I highlighted the best part.

When I heard the news, it was like I lost a good friend.  I am not sure why I feel that way other than the fact that an amazing man gave all for a great Country.

I too have wiped tears from my face.  I have read every post on this topic (having to take many breaks) and am amazed by the generosity and heart felt comments.  This is truly a hunting community / forum.  We all share the same strong fundamental beliefs and values as it pertains to god, family and country.

God Bless Aaron and his Family.

Johnny

I am in.  Bone please send me the adress to send the check.  I would also like to ask if I could post this to my FB page.  I have lots of family and friends that hunt and lots that are veterans or active.  Nothing can replace a husband, son, brother and friend but I would like to help their family in some small way.  As I am writing this the song I Drive your truck is playing.

Bone,
Thanks for setting this up.  This site is great because of people like you and our country is great because of people like Aaron!

I am not sure on the out of state hunt yet (considering a land owner tag in NM) but I want to donate, so if you could please PM me your address I will send a check.

God bless,
Brian

I am honored that your using this contest to help out a truly deserving member and his family, I didn't know Aaron personally but followed his passion through his posts on here and I can tell you that I strive every day to become half the guy he was !!

Count me in but I'm not sure if I'll be hunting out of state this year, jury is still out on that, stay tuned !!
