Has anyone hunted the ND conservation snow goose hunt?
« on: April 10, 2013, 09:35:41 PM »
I'm heading out next Thursday to North Dakota for what's supposed to be the craziest thing ever. No mag restriction on the shotgun and no daily limit. The guys I'm going with have been going for 5+ years and say its ridiculous. 400+ snows in three days and back to the cabin by noon everyday. Ill have to put up some pics and the story when I get back. Just wondering if anyone has been over there for the show.

You should take me next time.

I hunted South Dakota this year. I hope you have better weather than we did. It is quite fun but it is not as easy as it looks. Good luck.

Make sure your gun is cycling fine!  Mine had some problems so I had to settle for dbls instead of triples for awhile.
Hunted up in Saskatchewan.... set out 1000 decoys, recorded call etc.  and dropped 89 birds between 6 of us in a couple hours.... problem was 1000 decoys wasn't a big enough spread.   Never saw so many birds in my life!
Enjoy!

I should bring that :chuckle: if I go again next year ill find a spot for you jackalope. We aren't using a guide because we have all the gear. Between the drive, room and board, food, booze, a flat of shells, and random money for field owners we figure we will be out $750 ish for the 3 days of hunting. Not too bad.
