DIY 2x4 Shooting Target
« on: May 06, 2013, 04:10:29 PM »
Anyone have some wood target's for shooting they built themselves?  I think Im going to attempt to build a few today while Im out at my ladies house for when she goes out and does her target practice. Im thinking something fairly simple that you can stick a target right to. Probably just a wooden frame.

Any ideas or pictures would be great!

I made mine out of 2x2's, but looks like the one here, and the base comes off so you can fit it into anything.

Thats pretty much what I was thinking, That will work perfectly. If I built it good enough we wont need to screw in the bottoms, Just should slide snugg into the slot.

you dont need to screw it into the bottoms at all, and it doesnt have to be that snug either. Works great.

Cool man thanks for the reply. I should be able to throw a few of those together today no problem.

Yeah, don't screw the uprights in.  She will blow the backerboard apart and the occasional shot that hits the upright may cause a replacement too.

I just slide it into the base, sometimes throw a bag of sand on the base and fire away.  My wife just started to shoot.  Two hundred rounds and she is 143 out of 200 on paper and in the right general vicinity.  Target was almost cut in half after two rounds.
