Yelp Jr's First Longbeard

Wow what a wonderful day. My son Logan (11) got it done this afternoon. We chased this big gobbler around all weekend and we finally got it done. Logan made a beautiful shot at 25 yds with his 20 gauge. Gobbler was 18.5 lbs had 9 7/16" beard and had 7/8" and 1" spurs. We had this gobbler at full strut at 45 yards. I was using the Phelps Glass over slate and had him coming, then the live hens yelped and stopped the gobblers in thier tracks at 45 yds. They did an about face and went away with the hens. Logan and I quickly did a position adjustment (up and around) to get in front of the flock and the rest is history. To see him shake with excitement and grin made my day! I am so proud of him. Best hunt of my life!

Outstanding, Yelp..
Congrats, young man.
