Might be my last weekend.
« on: April 29, 2013, 03:56:37 PM »
Well... i might have to bite the bullet this year hunting turkey.... i think.. i deploy really really soon.. and i can't spend every weekend all day sat and sunday hunting... so this upcoming saturday will be my last unless anyone can put me, guarantee, a bird,  i think this saturday will be my last.  Sorry i have to stop so soon... really killing me to stop... but spending quality time with the fam is important.  So ya'll keep posting pics.... while i am gone so i can keep up with the Turkey, Deer, and Duck Season. :(

Hey Irishevox,

I assume you were the one that took my son and I out last Duck season and got us a Harli.  My boy still talks about it.

If you are around the following weekend I would be game to head out with you.

Also, want to say thanks for your service to our country and hope to see you around soon.

Hang in there Irish. That spot I've put you on is a good one. Another rookie hunter I suggested killed a bird there on their first day of hunting last year. Gotta stick with it! Them turks arnt gonna make it easy for ya  :chuckle:

Irish check out my post. Titled round two. Jim can definitely put you on the birds. It's his spot so he will have to tell you. I have duty next weekend so no hunting for me. :'(. I used a Quaker Boy triple threat call and worked awesome.

Irish, from reading some of the other threads on fall turkey hunting, not to sure if calling is gonna work. seems like more spot and stalk from what some of the guys are posting. My brother tried it a few years ago up in the NE corner and the calls didn't work to well for him in the fall.
