Sweet color phase.
Great looking bear.

I'm no expert but that bear may be closer to a record than you think. I feel he may go at least 21" by your pic compared to my pic taken in early August, 2012 under 'Bear Down'. Mine came in at 21 5/16" and yours looks pretty close in size. Congratulations on a pig!

That bear is one of the biggest black bears I've ever seen. I swear it's the bear I had to pass up a few years ago after I just packed out a bear on a spring hunt. I was hunting in the wenaha unit but he was on the border road of the Mountain view or tucannon unit's.  Dude, that is a bad a ss, huge bear!!! What a stud! Please let us know how big the head measures, that is a blackbear of a lifetime. Nice job and thanks for posting those awesome pic's.

Great post Trophy!!
Thanks, I sure wish I knew if that was the bear I had to let go. I saw it after loading my other bear in the truck and was driving down the road, I came around a corner and he was standing in the road. I swear he could have sat on my hood (4x4 Nissan Pu at the time), he had huge prints and looked just like that bear. Everyone I told in town (troy) about what I saw, said I should have thrown the other bear down the hill and shot the big one!! I was shocked about what they said but I guess they don't care for the bears down there, too many of them and they eat the calves.
