Just being out in the woods and having a chess match with nature is all a man can ask for.  The harvest is just a bonus.

Maturity is when you have the power to destroy someone who did you wrong but instead you breathe, walk away, and let life take care of them.

Thank you for the compliment Brian, but no I did not enter it.  First off there are some really great shots and I wouldn't feel right about possibly taking someone out of the running with my message.  Also, if by some miracle I actually won I would be using my brothers death for a profit.  Wouldn't sit well with me.  Thank you though.  Funny thing about a tragedy like this is it gives you a whole knew prospective on life.  Hunting is completely different now.  -Karl

Good quality and needed time with my dad since our schedule's never seem to work out just right so we can hangout unless its elk season and we both have the time off we always have a good time even if neither one of us gets anything that's something worth looking forward to every year

Elk Hunting, it doesn't start in September, it doesn't end in December. It runs deeper than any valley and and takes you higher than any mountain. For most that do it, it started as an early memory, most of us before we could shoot a gun or draw a bow. It can be obsession that never ends. Picking up sheds in the spring, chasing bugles in the fall, and trailing deep tracks through the winter snow. Remembering what are fathers before us shared with us: tracks, rubs, beds, and all those "secret spots." Building knowledge, drive, desire, determination, and passion. After all of the successes and downfalls our highest high is not our own personal glory. It's the excitement and success of our children that make elk hunting. I can't wait to enjoy mine for years to come. It just keeps getting better.

its not about the size of the rack or the bragging rights. to me its about the experience, the storys you can share with your family year after year and never get old! about getting close! missed oppurtunitys! about getting so close yet so far. its all about the hunt to me taking my nephew, girlfriend, father, mother, or brother out to get there elk. having bulls screaming only yards away yet you cant get the shot or they just dissapear as quick as they came. this calf was by far my most deserved animal ive ever hunted. i hunted sun rise to sunset all early and late season and had plenty of missed oppurtunites. well long story short i threw up on a nice 5x5 and my powder didnt light as he took off with the heard she stood there just as if god blessed me with how hard i worked i put another cap on and she dropped in her tracks.
"It aint about how hard you hit. Its about how hard you can hit and keep moving forward! how much you can take and keep moving forward!!
