Spicey Pickled Asparagus

Any members make a medium heat spicey pickled asparagus? I bought some last year at the Twisp Farmers Market and have been wanting to make some ever since. There a several recipes online but I would like to hear from someone who has a perfected medium heat pickled asparagus recipe.

Costco carries pickled asparagus for far cheaper than you can make it. There is a spicy variety that I would call medium.  :twocents:
It is quite tasty IMO

We did some test batches last year. Used a standerd pickling recipe and added 1/2 jalapeño pepper to each quart. Turned out good!!!!!

  I Make Dill Pickeled Green Beans For Bloody Marys.  I Use DIll Pickle Recipe But Put In Red Pepper Flakes For heat :tup:

Really..............a dollar a jar????  Stop by Eastern Washington on your way back from Turkey hunting. Pick up a case or two direct from the field. Wet towel and some ice to cover and come home and make it.  That crap at Costco I wouldn't grease my tractor with it!

Oh!!! yeah.

A brother from another mother has a great recipe and she shared it. :tup:
She makes and I eat  :chuckle: I haven't did any canning as of yet.

1gallon apple cider vinegar
2 1/2 oz crushed red pepper
3.5 oz dill weed
1oz mustard seed
2 large cloves garlic per quart jar
2 jalapeno's cut in half lenth wise leaveing the seeds on 1 whole one. 2 per quart jar.

This is good stuff especially for bloody mary's  :drool:
