Desert Deer hunt partner?
« on: May 03, 2013, 01:51:34 PM »
I know this a long shot but I was wondering if anybody was planning on putting in for the desert archery deer permit? I am going to put in for it, most likely as my only choice, but was hoping to be able to hunt it with somebody else. My hunting buddies are either putting in for a different unit or don't have many points. I currently have 9 points so if anybody in that range wants to go in as a partnership I think it could be pretty fun. I live in East Wenatchee so scouting all summer would be pretty easy for me.

What weapon did you put in for? I was going to say that I would split points with someone possibly. I have 9 points

You put those in the wrong order.

You have no chance at your second choice.

First, if I don't draw I'm not too worried about! Secondly, the archery tag is what I want!

I live near the unit and know it very well. Had the tag about 6 years ago. I love the hunt so if you draw it let me know, I know of some really good overlooked spots that get really low or no pressure. I go out just for fun in the rut between hunts and photograph the deer. Usually see 20-35 bucks a day and some real studs.

I like the sounds of that.

My cousin drew the Quality Archery tag as his 2nd choice. He is on here as well.

Splitshot; I'm not sure if it was me or not. I held the tag in 06. Met some of the other hunters out there, but dont remember any really.  :dunno:

I live across the freeway and will probably never draw, but I'm always happy to help put someone on a good buck. I actually work in the unit and see some nice bucks. Feel free to pm me and I'll be sure to keep an extra good eye out for anyone needing a little help!

I drew the Muzzle Oct. 12th thru the 20th. I wish I could hunt in late Dec and Jan. I see lots of BIG BOYS out hunting coyotes. I hope I can hold out and not shoot a deer opener of muzzy season. If I see a nice 3x3 it will be hard. LOL
