Too much practice not enough time chasing critters! Happens a lot this time of year. Time for that new string and cables I guess. I leave on Friday for my spring bear hunt. Not sure when I'm coming back as I plan on staying until I've got blood on my knife and meat in the cooler. But I will call you before I leave Colville so we can try to meet as I'm traveling through. I can pick up the bow and get it restrung and do a hootertune for ya. Might cost you some good home made peanut butter cookies
You can be a scouter, or a photo taker. You don't have to be hunting, Smoss!! Get out and burn some boot leather. RadSav you never cease to amaze me, man. You're a good dude.
RadSav you never cease to amaze me, man.
Hey Smossy - Those colors you chose are looking very nice! But I have to say you had that bow set up very nice. Not sure the string and cables were the problem. Just a little tweeking with the arrow rest and nockset height is all I could see. But this thing is going to look WAY cooler in about 15 minutes That might be all it was lacking
Wow! That's a dang good shooting bow too Just finished the first 50 shots with the new string and cables. Peep hasn't even begun to turn. So I'm not even going to bother with the next 50. Let you do that on your own. Looks good, shoots good, and I like what you've got there. If it had some deer or elk blood on it...it would be perfect.I bet I've made more than 100 strings and cables for Hoyt bows in the past. Never in that time have I had the factory specs result in perfect cam timing. The control cable always needs twisting one way or another. It's been bad enough that I quit making the control cables until I have the new string and power cable made and on the bow. I then twist the old control cable in or out until I get perfect timing. I then measure that cable and make the new one to that length. Usually that puts the control cable 1/8" to 5/32"" from the factory spec when measured under 100# tension/ATA standard. I need not have bothered on this bow. First ever perfect Hoyt I've held in my hands! I knew they existed...but was beginning to think I would never see one They do exist!!!
This is awesome! You da man radsav.
So will the string stretch at some point or no? (Making the peep rotate) and if it does what do I do with it then?
