Goose Prairie -- Archery Quality Elk Hunt?
«
on:
May 05, 2013, 11:25:50 AM »
Its been six years since we hunted this unit. We packed back into the wilderness area west of Bumping Lake. Would anyone please let us know how the bull population is looking these days? I see that its back open to over-the-counter cow, not just spike. Is the bull tag worthwhile if you can get drawn? Is Paul still outfitting this unit? Thanks

Paul is still outfitting up there. I think a friend of mine is supposed to start guiding for Paul? I atleast know that Paul asked him to, but not sure if he accepted.

Chinook is good outfit and Paul is awesome. I also had packed in west of Bumping lake and shot a cow 4 years ago. Have a bull tag this year though! Shoot2Miss - Are you going in with Chinook this year? I'm currently going solo, but looking for other hunters to hook up with in that area. Please PM me if interested.

I am still predicting a zoo in there this year. The crowd from the little Naches closure is heading south.

saying it will be "zoo" is an understatement, not even going to bother

Just the facts. What we should really be doing is continuing to press the WDFW for both Little Naches and Bumping to be open at the same time. That is the only solution.

I like hunting zoos. There are lots of critters and they're easy to approach.
