Spring bear app question
« on: February 08, 2014, 03:47:00 PM »
When buying the spring bear application do you need your tag first.
Went to pic it up and couldn't yet because I didn't have my tag.
Plan on getting everything later on because I don't have that kind of money at the moment.
It don't make since because if someone only had the intention of trying to draw spring bear and hunt only the spring, but did not draw it ends up costing them the app and the tag and they might not get to hunt.
Thanks for any info

It makes perfect sense, the state just wants your $ :)

Don't need a tag, but you do need to buy a bear license...

I applied for spring bear only and the cost was $31.60.
Bear License $22.00
Special Hunt App $6.60
Bear Tag 0.00
Dealer Fee $3.00

I don't think that's the way it should be because what I said earlier, but like lewy said the state just wants your money.
Thanks for clarifying that's the way it is though. I was hoping she was wrong.
Darn
I usually by a combo deer elk bear cougar with small game all at once. And didn't want to have to spend that kind of money yet.
But looks like there is no way around it

Its the same as applying for deer or elk special permits. You have to have the license first. Otherwise you would get a bunch of people who apply for the hunt then if they don't get drawn never buy the license.

Yes you do choose which hunts you want to apply for. You have four choices. You bought the application, now you need to submit it. Otherwise you really did just donate $6.60 to the state.
