i picked up a weatherby vanguard carbine in 308 the other day. the rifle is ported, bedded/floated and has a custom trigger set at 2.75lbs. i topped the rifle with weaver style redfield bases and leupold rings, and a cabelas pineridge slugger (shotgun) scope. i have used the scope 2 times in the past with wonderful results and being strapped for cash i figure i should mess with success so i bought another one
spent the last week getting is sighted in and its shooting 1" 5 shot groups at 100yds with cheap fmj wolf ammo. i cant wait to see what it shoots when i get some decent ammo. should be a 3/4" or less rifle if i do my part.
i can tell you one thing with the ports, the rifle kicks about the same as a 243, but sounds like a 300 ultra going off.

first range session i forgot my ear plugs and that will never happen again
