ID springer season
« on: April 30, 2013, 09:50:55 PM »
Doesnt look good for us guys over here targeting the springers in ID..the whole Clearwater system is being allowed to harvest 200 fish! for the whole season...subject to change if more fish come over than expected.

Rapid river is being allowed 2500 fish for that system

I heard that more fish are headed for Salmon River. Did you know they don't clip the fins on all the hatchery fish, only 80%. The Indians clip even less!

It's a courtesy season. I'm guessing they will close the Ice Harbor fishery before quota is met

Kid fished the last 2 days at Little Goose. Maybe 2 dozen caught on Sunday and he said very few today. he did pick a 9 pound hen. Fish cop told him it was about 50/50 on wild to clipped. Fish cop told him he would email him the catch results for this last weekend on or around Tuesday. That will determine if it opens this next weekend as well. I think the numbers for the pool were around 300 fish. This is total harvest for the season.

Snake was also about 4 to 5 feet lower than last year. Might make the palouse river a bit sporty!! getting ready to make a run there.

counts are way down! Bonneville has 15,000-25,000 fish days over at its peak...so far the biggest day was 7,700 fish. Fed  or subsidized indian ran hatcheries have to fin clip all..if private or sole indian they can do whatever they want
