That's awesome!! I saw one up on the last blacktop road that goes to the left before you get to Alder Lake (don't know the road name). It was elk season and I saw the head and antlers of what at first I thought was an elk. It turned and ran off, but a guy and his girlfriend were watching it. I asked why they didn't shoot, it looked to be a legal elk. They said it was a deer!!!! I was surprised!! It was tall and wide like the one in the picture. I think there are still some great genetics up there on that hill!

That buck is ridiculous...

Can't wait to see Charlie bring it back to life.
:yeah: What is the world record score? I didn't think the record was that big, what an animal.   Just answered my own question, the world record columbia blacktail is 182, yours is really close. very impressive!
“In common with”..... not so much!!

it used to be #5 but I think its been bumped out of the top 10 by now.

yes it was shot in washington around 1925.  Eatonville area to be exact.  It was my great uncle Jack who shot the buck and it sat in the shed for a decade or so and not sure when the mount was done.  My grandpa seems to think that one of my uncles may have mounted it in the early 60's when they were tinkering with taxidermy.  I wish I knew more details on this dude but those old boys didn't pay much attention to the antlers back in those days.

What an awesome deer!

The taxidermy isn't nearly as bad as the one my mom has hanging in her house though.  In the 60s my dad had the first mule deer he killed (he had just immigrated from Europe) mounted by an amatuer taxi.  It's an absolute train wreck.  I have offered to remount it, but mom won't let me touch it.  It is the running joke among the guys that have stayed at mom's house when we go up north to hunt.  Looks like an antlered coyote chewing on apples... :chuckle:
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.
