Gun prohibitionists lied!! (Oh, the shock!)

Gun homicides down, gun ownership up = Gun banners lied!

Two days after the National Rifle Association’s record-breaking annual convention in Houston, during which NRA leaders were vilified and gun prohibitionists cranked up the volume of their gun ban rhetoric, the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) released data that effective blows Titanic-sized holes in the gun control agenda.

What a shocker. NOT!

Up until about a month and a half ago, the Dept of Justice website section on gun violence stated at the top of the page, "Gun violence has plummeted since 1993." This statement has since been removed, probably due in part to the many letters and emails I wrote which cited that opening comment on their site to our two gun-grabbing senators, and to our President. The stark statistics which show the plummeting numbers remain, however. It seems that the DOJ either voluntarily removed that statement, or has been directed to do so by "higher ups". Manipulating public information to forward individual political agendas may actually be illegal and constitute fraud. I wish I had the resources to pursue this.

Thanks as always for a poignant and timely article, Dave.

I want to know if the data included justifiable homicides where a firearm was used.  For instance, police officers who used deadly force, citizens who used deadly force, still a homicide with a firearm used but justifiable by law.

I can't find out the info, but right now I have a sneaking suspicion.

Right, so when the gun grabbers get up on a podium they use the statistic and call it all "gun violence".  That's the problem, these numbers should (possibly) be lower.

correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't suicide by firearm(which makes up a very large part of overall gun violence) lumped in as well?
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun
