Market Value of Once Fired Brass
« on: May 10, 2013, 10:23:33 PM »
hey guys,

I have about 35 pounds of .223 brass that is once fired. The rounds are segregated and most all of the deformed cases are picked out. The cases are not cleaned and trimmed and the old primer is still in them. I've done some reading and they say that there are about 73 casings in a pound. I have got a few offers for $3.50 per pound. Is that a good price (for me as the seller) or should I hold out for more?

Thanks.

In this market anything goes, I'm seeing some 223 on shelves again so I think the market is softenning on components.

I usually figure that ONCE fired brass is a fair deal at half the price of new all the same headstamp, new brass runs $25/100 so $10-$15 would be a fair price in my opinion.  The Grafs catalog has used 223 brass at $79/m when they have it.
After the first shot the rest are just noise.
