You would love it!!!

I bought the same rifle last fall in Florida with a brake installed, still new in the box for 650...

I have owned the SPS previous to this one.

Word to the wise, DO NOT put a cheap scope on it.. It will eat it for lunch.......

I kill elk and eat elk, when I'm not, I'm thinking about killing elk and eating elk.

It doesn't matter what you think...

Mine will be used for Elk this fall, then shipped off to get a whole bunch of work done! Mine shoots great out of the box! But I wanna get all the bang out of the gun and the caliber has to offer!

Do a youtube search.  Guys are making these extreme long distance rifles

I've owned a couple Rem 700 RUM's, including the XCR in question. I love that gun! I chose to opt not to put the muzzle break on it because I am not recoil sensitive, but like the guy said before me, dont skimp on the glass!  :twocents:

I prefer the original XCR finish to the finish on the XCR 2 that remington sells now also!

wonder if it'd be possible to match that finish on an aftermarket barrel

The XCR I'm looking at is the 2009 model, I probably would already own it but they're still asking MSRP  :o

It might be close but won't be the same. when I did my muzzle brake I called Remington to figure out if I could get the barrel re done because the gunsmith put vise marks in my barrel. they wouldn't even give me the name of the company who does it for them. Searching the web I figured out where they sent them and got ahold of them and they wouldn't do it because of proprietary data b.s. and they are more of a production type shop so it wasn't worth it to do one barrel.

It took me about 3 months of waiting but eventually one came up on Gun Broker with 6 rounds through it that was too much gun for the original owner.  I paid $625.00 for it,  shipping, FFL & tax it was in my safe for $740.00.  I scoured GB, Guns America and Gun Aution daily.  They are out there with little use for a reasonable price if your patient and dilligent.  Good Luck!

What did you get the setup for total if you don't mind me asking?
