the pics I seen on here shows me moose poop thats round and oval, this leads me to the conclusion that said moose was laying down..How do I know this you ask???Well, after years of studies,we found we could tell how tall the moose was buy their droppings,,The average moose's butt is 5.8inches off the ground. Now we found that when each pellet drops it leaves a flat spot on one end of the dropping...Thus the taller the moose, the larger the flat spot...We found that the really tall trophy class moose actually had flat pellets, like oatmeal cookies...Those moose are anywhere from 6.1 feet to 6.6 feet at the anal.We did lose a few of our bioligists in this study, not so much from measuring the diameter of the flat spot, but trying to get a precise measurement of the ground to anus height...The dimpled moose droppings were simple, they actually landed on top of a moose turd that was on end thus creating a dimple...Its been a few years since the study, and some high end {parden the pun}equiptment has come out, making this study safer..We now have what looks like a typical range finder,Butt in reality it measures height, and is good out to 25yrds,thus keep our bioligists out of hoof range...That's what we have arrived at with this study, hope you found it of good use..Now we are working on how to tell a benchleg buck dropping from a true westside blacktail buck dropping,,,,
