My brother and i left friday night and headed over to camp just above Teanaway for the weekend in hopes of finding a few deer.
Had a great time and hiked our butts off and saw some pretty cool country but the only thing we saw with a heart beat was grouse and a couple other hunters. Last year i stayed the whole week near the same area and saw a ton of deer. At least we saw does last year. My buddie even tagged out on the second morning with a nice buck...
however this year it was a little different story.
I have a feeling the very cold clear nights made it even harder. It was like summer while hiking too. Sun for most of the weekend.
Still we as hunters know that its not always about killing something.
All in all it was a great trip.
Made some memories with friends and spent some cherrished time with my brother.
We are going to classify this trip as a "training mission" for our upcomming bull ELK hunt. which we leave for on saturday.
Short deer season for us, but we are going to leave nothing on the field come monday the 20th.
hope you all had good openers.
i will be posting a few pics later tonight.
