would you hunt it?
« on: May 15, 2013, 08:50:36 AM »
So I am finally in the final stages of purchasing a house in the machais area with a 3 acre wooded lot.  I have seen pics of a lot of the deer that frequent the area including a couple really nice blacklists.  If I talk to the neighbors (both of them, only 2 other houses on the street.) Would it be wise to hunt that area for early archery.  Planning on getting a small plot and planting apple trees.  I would also be making other form of natural funnels.

I would. However...if the family started thinking of them as pet deer I'd have to rethink it. So...yes....I'd stick one.

To me it would depend on whether or not your neighbors are ok with a deer dying in their backyard.

+1 jackelope. I would have no problem hunting on a small piece of property like that in fact I do hunt a couple spots like that. The neighbors like me to get the deer and have offered me cores and breakfast when I went to retrieve downed deer near their yard. I just clean up after myself before I leave and thank them.

Thanks for the responses.  That's my thoughts on this as well.  Should be in there in just over a month.
