Used the Miami Beach launch out of Seabeck. What a freaking zoo, waited from 715 to 800AM to launch and from 1200PM to 115PM to pull out. I'm used to no wait at the launch I use in area 10 and maybe 3 to 4 boats shrimping near me. We had 3 pots that were set down so bad the lines tangled, I could have walked on water from one buoy to the next. Growing up in area 10 I know the area well and the locals have a respect and etiquette to crabbing/shrimping/fishing. We had a blast and I know the canal is a huge area but overall I was not impressed.
There were five of us. It was my first time, though I was with people who had gone before. It was slow for everyone around us. Seems the boats with one or two people managed to get limits though. Not to familiar with the area but we were near Union in about 200 ft of water.
One thing different in 10 is most older locals tend to add colored corks behind their bouy to mark a specific person's pot. That way you know who's pot it is and to give them a lot of space ...
