I like Leupolds better in general.  In my opinion you just can't go wrong with a Leupold.  Also, I don't know if you know this or not but the RX-1000 was rated the 2011 Hunting Product of the year!  See the link below for more about that:

Never had a leupold that read true to its range.
That Sword is more important than the Shield!

+1 I had a top end Leupold and sold it. I would get a Nikon if a lower price were mandatory but for a few hundred more you could get an infinitely better Leica.
