Method of Bowhunting
« on: May 16, 2013, 11:17:03 PM »
What is your favorite way to hunt with a bow ( spot and stalk, tree stand, blind, etc.).  Include general location and type of game so that it makes more sense.

Spot and stalk-muley
Locate and ambush-elk
Predator call ambush-bear
If i hunted whitetail or had elk patterend to a specific trail i would use a blind or tree stand. Over looked but effective

Spot and stalk Mulies for early hunt. For the late hunt, I got a place in the north central I hike in to and when I smell the doe in heat, I put on the ghillie suit and wait for the horndogs. I have good luck with that on Nov. 21st and 22nd. Rut's usually completely over by the 23rd, then it's back to spot and stalk. I call and ambush Turkey.

Tree stand or make my own blind out of brush for whitetails.

Tried that once myself.  Woke up much later than expected.  Sometime during my nap a detour sign was erected at the end of the trail they should have approached from.  That's my story and I'm sticking to it.  :chuckle:
