Local knife makers ?
« on: December 17, 2024, 08:48:55 PM »
Kind of a random request, but looking to see if there are any knife makers on here.
The last knife my father gave me before he passed was a puukko knife, a traditional Finnish all around work horse, in alignment with our heritage.
Anyways, I won’t use it hunting, don’t want it to just sit in a box, and am finally getting to the point of being able to look at and use things he left to me and am wanting to honor him. So was looking at having it modified into a tuna drop blood knife, or a 1.5 inch blade used for bleeding out tuna or other pelagics.  The reason for the short blade is allowing you to cut the main blood line without damaging the loin.  This would allow me to use the knife doing something I love and something he taught me to do; fishing.
Not even sure if modifying a blade is possible, but figured I’d check here.
Thanks

You’re a finnish fisherman? I resemble that myself!

Send me a mssg if you like. I’ve done a few modification jobs like that.
