Wynoochie 7400 ramp blocked?
« on: May 18, 2013, 11:35:13 AM »
Just found out that Green Diamond has put up a brand new gate on the 7400 road basically blocking access to the launch.  It is a couple of mile drag to launch there now.   :bash:  I also hear that they are going to charge $300 to access their lands and ramps along the coastal rivers.  WTF?  Are these folks trying to kill all the hunting and fishing ion the wetside?  Hopefully they will only be charging a small daily launch fee instead of blocking it off completely.

To fish some of the other rivers not too far from the nooch requires a Discover Pass.  With a drift boat, that usually means two passes....one for the rig with the trailer and the other for the shuttle car.

Uhh- HELL YES!
Exactly what many have been trying to point out in the Weyco fee access threads. When Weyco goes, they all will go.

Looks like its a green dot to me....no reason to complain. Yet......

Also if you actually fish that section of river, you will know they have upped the logging traffic drastically since last winter (2011/12)
I witnessed many times *censored*es towing drift boats blocking logging trucks as they are coming passed the launch. You all forget, its green diamond land, their operations have right of way, if you are preventing their operations from flowing smoothlytthey will shut it down.

Also, this will not be the only road gated, with the option to be closed at any time whether you're vehicle is sitting at the launch or not.
Donkey creek road is next to receive gates.

It is going to stay green dot for this year and next.  After that it will be a pay to play.  Same for Donkey creek access.  I just talked to the big dog and he said they are missing out on revenue which the other timber companies are collecting.

I talked to one of the managers and the security foreman.  Both said the same thing...  But I will be interested to see if another story comes up.

Maybe I'm just naive, but I assumed that Donkey Creek Rd. was a FS right-of-way of some sort.  There's only 2 ways in/out of that rather large area of public land.  Gonna be a long drive to access some areas from the other access...  If they want to gate the timber land so be it, but it's bad news if we can't even access the public land!

What state representatives are "friends of sportsmen" these days?  It doesn't seem like too many have our backs right now!

So, I'm not trying to pick a fight here - and I don't like losing access either -  but who doesn't think a company should have the right to keep you off their land or change you to trespass?

If you have the right to trespass their land, do you have the right to trespass all privately owned land?

If not, how do you differentiate?

Just askin'.....

Thanks,
