«
on:
April 28, 2013, 06:55:34 PM »
June 8th is the date for the 2nd annual Sportsman's Challenge shoot.
we have made a few improvements since the first shoot to help keep barrels cooler and keep people ingauged throughout the day.
there will be big game (steel vitals) and small game (solid steel) targets that will be set out any where from 150-1000 yards to test your marksmanship abilities with your varmint/ predator rifle as well as your long range big game set up. you can bring 338 caliber and lower for the big game and 308 caliber and down for the small game. There will be no solid, incenderary, or any ammo that will pierce or compromise the surface of ar 500 steel 1/2".
registration will start at 7 a.m. shooting will start at 8 a.m. and we will go untel all shooters are done.
there will be prizes from multiple manufacturers for top shooters in both the big and small game courses.
you can read more about the shoot, register and pay online if you would like as well as view pics of past events at

This may be an odd question but would there be any opportunity to come and watch or would there not really be anything to see. I'll be over there that weekend. Just wondering.

Caleb, thanks for putting on such an enjoyable shoot. My son has wanted to go to one of these shoots before and finally talked me into going to this one, first time either of us has ever been to any kind of shooting competition, all the way home he talked about going next year. Sign us up for the next one!

I am glad that you guys were able to make it and have a good time. I will usually keep events posted on here as well as my website. if you do facebook at all you can like the sportsman's challenge and get updates there as well. thinking up a date for next years shoot rite now, if you like the small game, i do a few of those a year for 10$ a gun not as cool prizes, but it is a lot of fun and cool targets to shoot at.
thanks again,
caleb

This past Saturday June 8th Sportsman’s Challenge put on our 2nd annual shoot which consisted Two big game courses with targets ranging in distance from about 450- 950 yards with a moving bonus target set up by In Motion Targets that was worth 3 points for a first round hit and half that for a second shot. There was also a small game course with targets from 190- 550+ yards. All of these targets proved to be not easy with the weather conditions you tipicaly find in the terrain around Miller Ranch in Sprague, WA. With 37competitors in attendance we had a full day of shooting beginning at 8 a.m. and finishing around 5 p.m.
I feel this has been the smoothest shoot we have run yet and it has reflected both through participants comments as well as not having any issues the whole day except for the moving target being snapped and having to replace it witch only took 10 minutes or so. If you have ever looked at going to one of these shoots take a look at the comments on the Sportsman’s Challenge website and check out the comments that come from past shooters and see what they thought.
Thanks to all the shooters for coming, but most of all thanks to all that made this shoot happen
