sorry for the story being late i posted the pictures from my phone. The hunt started by me leaving saturday about noon i left my house with out my bow on my dads motorcycle and went where there is normally turkeys i got up there and it just started pooring down rain i was soaked and sat under a tree not giving up and called and a turkey gobbled way off in the distance. so i left after it quit raining came home and got my camo on and got all my calls and left my house on the motorcycle with out my bow again to another spot and i talked to some buddies and they told me they seen a big tom down the road that morning. so i went back down the road and it started pouring down rain again but i didnt give up i got to where they described the bird was and i stopped and sat there for a little bit and let everything settle down. i put my sweet old hen mouth call in and gave a couple yelps and sure enough up on the hill he started gobbling so i pushed the bike down the road quietly and i came home told my dad that i had a bird gobbling so we got in the car and came back to where he was and he was standing right in the road where i called from and my dad stopped the car and he took off up the hill so i grabbed my bow and went down the road and he was on the hill about 40 yds away and i drew back and let him have it. i sure in the hell did not want to shoot a turkey like that but it was getting close to the end of the season and i didnt want to let anymore birds go with the season the way it has been. i hunted everyday  and walked miles trying to call a bird in i missed one with my bow which was the only bird i called in all season.

Backcountry,

Great job.  Glad you were able to put the hurt on a bird before the season came to a close.  Plus I can appreciate the difficulty getting one of these birds with a bow regardless of the circumstances.  Well done.
