Thanks guys,
If I never get another opportunity to hunt elk in the first week of October, I can feel blessed that I was fortunate enough to do it once. It was mind blowing hearing the elk bugle, the cows talk, and chase the herd bull until my knees about buckled !

Best of luck on your hunt. Looking forward to your story!

Blessed,
This bull came sneaking into a cow call. When I saw him, he was raking a small jack fir, looking for some action. All I could see was his head, part of his back, and a couple of hooves .
I slowly raised my 270, and shot him right thru his spine when he lowered his head at about 100 yards. Pretty much dropped him in his tracks. Good thing too. If he would has took off down in the hell hole, it would have added some serious pack time.
Congrats on your past rosies with a bow. Pretty impressive indeed!
