I just started getting interested in it late last season and want to get more into it.  Seems like a good time!

:yeah: My favorite is to go in after them. Especially in the river when a lot of people are around. Pull up a crawdad and everyone goes " :yike: wth is that....you didn't get that from the river did you!"  :chuckle:

I'm cuckoo for craw daddies, but I haven't been successful getting any, believe me, I've tried. I would love to hear any good tips on how to get these guys before I loose my mind. :yike:

Twin Lakes in Smokey Point has a ton. Go around shore at night with a spotlight and a net

My friends and I used to snorkel for them in LK. WA.. We would swim along with a mesh bag and turn over rocks, then catch them with our hands. We used to load up and then have a big boil. Good times! It was pretty cool when the bass would dart up and nail them as they tried to swim off. Might have to do that this summer for old time sake.

Used to go out with my dad at nite around Halloween time on a low tide in Astoria. We'd just walk along the shore by the railroad tracks using a lantern and throw 'em in a gunny sack then have a big feed! Jeeze those little buggers were good.  My dad would tear the tail off then suck the juice outta the body part :yike: then chow down on the tails. I couldn't ever do the juice part. The females with eggs added a little extra flavor too. The traps we used were cylindrical with a funnel shape opening on each end and a salmon head or two for bait. Always wanted to make a couple traps but couldn't figure out how to make that damn opening :bash: Aaah the good ol days.

I used to live in Sliddel, LA. We would buy them in 100 lb sacks, nothing like sucking heads and pinching tails. They are really good with plenty of beer too! Wives would make the leftovers into et tu fay. I'm pretty sure I spelled that wrong  :o
