Non-Typ. Blacktail Shed
« on: October 10, 2008, 01:18:14 PM »
This is a shed I found two years ago. Im pretty sure he died from old age. He was a heavy horned 5x6. The non-typ. side is about 6 inches shorter than his 5pt. side, and he had a heavy limp on his back leg, so I think this was the reason for the stunted growth. He grew a 12" split main beam off of a heavy pedicle and a 3" eyeguard, which is big for what I've seen on blacktails. He also has a sticker coming off the base. I wish I could say I have a matched set, but another guy found the other side. I've had my chances to poke a hole in this buck, but he always seemed one step ahead of me.

Don't go poking a hole in him just shoot him!!

The further one goes into the wilderness, the greater the attraction of its lonely freedom.

Found these this past spring and hope to get this guy on my trailcams before the late season opens.  You can see the shed from last year too so I know he's in the same area.

I hope you can snatch a pic of him with the game cam. He looks like he will be a stud.
