Places around Brinnon
« on: May 22, 2013, 11:27:02 AM »
Heading up to Brinnon for the weekend and would like to try to do some fishing. Suggestions on where to try. Will be myself, wife, and 4 yo daughter. I assume places will be to the north towards PT, which is fine (I know Leland is up there, any good?). Feel free to PM if not wanting to publicize it  :)

Thanks.

Sorry, no help in that area. I need to learn more about the fishing opportunities up there. All I have really done is silvers in Dabob bay. I'm headed to Brinnon too. Leaving Saturday morning. We have a vacation place up off Dosewallops rd.  love the area. We do all of the seafood stuff. Including shrimp. And going to try for Gooeyducks Sat. and Sunday. Hope the weather is decent for Shrimp Fest at Hjelvicks. The grandkids are looking forward to it.

If your looking for a good meal hit the Halfway house. 2 for1  steak on Friday and Prime rib Saturday. Awesome chow with the best Blue cheese salad dressing ever. Desserts that you cant get enough of. Good prices. Never had a bad meal there.

Gave you all the info except what you asked for.  :sry:
Good luck on the fishing!

Thanks, PM sent.

Is ShrimpFest back on (seems it didn't happen last year)?

Yep. They are having it Hjelvicks. They disked up the field awhile back and have been prepping it. The grass hasnt gotten very thick but I saw them spreading hay last weekend. Hopefully its kinda dry and doesnt turn into a mud mess.

i used to fish leland all the time when i lived over in that neck of the woods. really good fishing with several species to catch. last time i fished it for largemouth we did well on both bass and a ton of bluegill which are really fun for the kids cause they sure put up a fight for how small they are. another good option would be tarboo, i took my soon there opening weekend and we caught and released over 20 rainbows in about 2 hours. very limited bank fishing though
