could have been a springer, more likely a summer steelhead or outgoing winter steelhead.they are in the chehalis, but not many. a good run of them is only 2000 fish or so, and they mostly head to the upper reaches of the river.
We have only ever caught one at the cow. Do they run up the nooch?

For years the state has claimed no springers in the Nooch. Many anglers say different. I think the dam probably had a big negative impact. But I have seen a few. I think it is probably a small remnant run, but believe they are there.
