Had a hard rain the other night.  Still seeing hens with roosters......  No chicks seen since the 22nd.

Not a one around here.  seeing a ton of doves just out of the nest.   but that does not make up for no quail or pheasants,  did see a young fawn and mama though...

Saw 12 or so valley chicks Tuesday below our cabin in Okanogan, woke up Thursday morning to 42 degrees and solid pouring rain  :bash:. Rained most of the day and stayed pretty cold...not good. Hope they make it.

Have seen 4-5 pheasant hens without chicks.  Yesterday saw 3 drenched turkey hens without any poults.  Did see 5 older quail chicks in town though.  They were probably a 1/3 the size of an adult and could fly.

Afraid it is going to be poor......we've been pounded by rain of recent.  2nd cutting is blooming out terribly because it's been too wet to be able to knock down.  Looks like today should be the last of it but I'm sure we've gotten a half an inch today already alone.

Saw the quail around the house yesterday, 3 separate families all with 6-0 chicks and one pair had a 2nd set of 12 or so. The 2nd set must have just hatched cause they were probably the size of a quarter!!! 2nd hatches make me happy  :IBCOOL:

saw several families of quails in the last several days.  one family had about 10 chicks.  all very small about 2 days old maybe.   the other families had anywhere from 1 to 6 chicks. they were all flying already.

also saw a family of huns.  the chicks were a bit bigger already.
