I needed a professional taxidermist there to skin it out. I didn't do as bad as you might think but my amateur taxidermist said I kinda butchered it...and I did a little bit. :dunno:

Nice thing about bears is they are easily repaired  :chuckle:  It will be fine . You doing a rug or mount of some sort ?

Just tannin it but it will be cherished there's no doubt about it. I kinda like the idea of just a tanned hide, I can play with it more than a mount  :chuckle: besides I gotta pay for an elk pretty soon, gotta save my  :twocents:

Like I said before matt, awesome job!  You were supposed to shoot one of the little bears on that ridge! :chuckle:  I think that is the prettiest coat I have ever seen on a bear.  He is a lot more blonde than I thought he was.  What a beast!   Thank you for the play by play as well.  It made my week.-Karl
