I had the following on my wishlist:

1. Kudu
2. Impala
3. Warthog
4. Bushbuck
5. Zebra

The trip last year took care of the Kuda, Impala, and Zebra.

After the trip, the new list consists of:

1. Cape Buffalo
2. Warthog
3. Gemsbok
4. Crocodile
5. Any other plainsgame that wanders by.  :)

Don't have the desire to shoot any of the cats. Like cats too much. Elephant doesn't do much for me either.

5 yr old daighter and wife . it can be done if you put money aside
I am definetly not rich. a great kudu bull is a beautiful sight. also game munumbers are staggering.  many types of hunting can be done. if anyone has qiestions on price.feel free to call me or pm me.  it could be cheaper than you think and there are bad outfitters so beware

His Bush Pig was a real trophy!  I was jealous!  As was his Hyena...  Also jealous!

I agree, you don't have to be rich to go to Africa, just disiplined to put a savings plan together.  I did a 3 year plan to pay for my trip.  Worth every sacrifice.

Agree on vetting outfitters in advance.  accurate reloading.com is a great place to do that.

Youngbull, I think you owe us a thread with photos!!  you are holding out on us!

Ever looked into how they hunt those Bongo?  That is a hard core hunt in some hard core habitat in a hard core country.

If the car ride to camp does not kill you, the jungle does not get you, and the silverbacks don't get you, the ants will probably carry you away!

honestly it sounds like a real adventure, one I'd like to do someday!

here is a great report with some outstanding photos:

Another outstanding report that mentions the three enemies of the hunt.

A: The bush pig was the only thing left after your shooting spree.  :P
B: You had your chance(s) at hyena.  :chuckle:
C: Besides, you stole my bushbuck and warthog!

Hey now!

I did miss two shots hyena, but in my (limited) defense, it was at night, with no lights or illuminated reticle, and slinking in and around the shadows of the trees at the time!  I wonder if I was the ONLY one to miss a shot on a hyena?  Hmm...  Might have to check the pivot table...

But, as you said, it made stealing your bushbuck all that much sweeter!
