New to the forum
« on: October 11, 2008, 09:16:23 PM »
I'm new to the forum, I go by cameraguy. I live in  eastern Oregon, not far from the Steens Mountains.  I enjoy wildlife photography, hunting, fishing, etc.  Looks like you have some great photographers on this site.  I've been checking out the pictures and reading a lot of the  posts.  Looks like a place I can get some good tips and techniques on taking better  photos.  Here's a few pics. I took last year.

Nice pics.  That second pic reminds me of a buck that I poleaxed one time.  He was in the sneak just like that and I put the cross hairs right above his head, best shot (quickest kill) I have ever made.

Great having you aboard Cameraguy.  I wonder if I get a "finders fee" for pointing you to this site...?   ;)  The buck in the first picture is big.  Very impressive.  The action on the second picture is great chasing the ladies.  The third picture is a really great capture.  Love the lip curlers.

Tips?  Doesn't look like you need any.  Regarding post process, I love new tips and tricks.  I try and only sharpen the animal.  Seems the grass turns out a little jaggedy when I do a global sharpen.  I guess it depends on the image.

Welcome and those are some great pics.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Very very nice.  I was gonna leave my camera at home tomorrow when I head out to Eastern Washington for muley hunting.  My skill is nowhere even close to yours or Pope's but you've changed my mind so I can get some more practice in taking nature shots.

Those look like the bucks I want to take pics of this fall in your neck of the woods.  I think if I could just add 5 more days to November it would be possible.  I think Pope might even twist my arm.  I f I get a quick one on tehthe ground with my permit I know I will be heading your way.  Great pics and welcome to the site!!!!!!!!!!!
