I always killed them with pb and floating or drifting night crawlers.... I carry so many different kinds of pb/Gulp/ect... On several occasions nothing for hours upon hours... Then you find that one magical color for the day and you can't beat them off the hook... Then next day it's different and you must start all over again... Some of my favorites in pb are nymph, pink, orange and pink power eggs... Pautzke now makes a pink glitter fire bait that has been amazing...

Eagle Claw also has a dough bait... A bunch actually.. Two buddies and I were out on a HIS dock mind you... Nothing all day and we're almost out of beer... I switch to Eagle Claw bumblebee... Had my limit in five casts after that.. Less then ten minutes and then they had to by me a bottle each to use some....  :chuckle:  We left 30 minutes later to get more beer and bbq with 3 limits.. Some nice holdovers to boot...

The drifting/floating, worm/nightcrawler way has been very successful... Some of my biggest fish have came this way... Not only trout either... Got some big cats, bass, perch, and such from doing so... But just remember after a certain depth the inflated worm will no longer be inflated... And in the perfect depth they only last so long till you can't inflate them any more..

I use 6-8# main and 4-6# leader.... I will never use 2# again... I've lost too many big ass fish on 2 and 4# that I even use 6# for leaders depending on where I'm fishing... I even have one pole set up with 10# main and 8# leader for the right places...  :twocents:

To me that is half the fun, using 2lbs gives us both a fighting chance

Pull a black fly slowly behind a boat.  If that doesn't work then go to worms.
