Anyone using peep sight with a front fiber optic?
I just changed over to this setup and seem to get more accuracy at a longer distance.
Just want to get a second opinion.

I don't care much for the peep sight in the dark timber, I tried it years ago but didn't have the fiberoptic on the front sight, that probably makes a decent difference...

When it's dark  or real short yardage hunt(the thick stuff) I remove the aperature from the sight.  Much larger feild of veiw.  Eye's  still naturaly center the front sight.  Before a peep sight I was good to 50 yds.  100yds outa the question.  I apply a small amount of glow in the dark finger nail polish to my front sight now and again  as its not fibre optic.  I'd switch but things are perfect right now.  :)

Shag, after seeing an older gentleman getting 1" group with his 45-70 using iron peep sight at 200yds while I was shooting really sporatic at 60yds, I went and got a Williams peep.
I kept the original Knight front green fiber optic and mounted the Williams.
The store in Puyallup told me to sight it in at 25yds at 2" high and it should be dead on at 100yds.
He also told me to remove the aperature and just use the ring from the sight after sighting in at 25yds.
I really can't explain it but I was able to shoot pretty tight groups at 100yd and more using 348gn Powerbelt.
Could be a confident thing too, I don't know.

I use a williams peep with a marbles fiber optic front.  The first front site I tried was to big so I ordered a smaller one.  My factory front site was to high to use with the peep so you might have to replace the front.

Iron Head,

Yes it is strange.   But awesome!!  All natural ,quick to aim.  For years I hunted with an -06 that had lyman peepsight.  Lots of deer died.  After I scoped it not much changed except range of shot.  I pretty much never use the aperature while hunting deer.  Way to hard to see the damn thing.
