Southwest Texas Wild Pig Hunt w/Knife & Dogs
« on: May 28, 2013, 09:08:18 PM »
Just got back from a guided hog hunt southwest of San Antonio over Memorial Day weekend. The guide uses dogs. Once the dogs track down the wild pig, we come in and stick it in the heart/lungs and kill it with a knife. This is the first one I killed Saturday morning. I killed another one Sunday morning. A local butcher is cutting them up and sending me the meat. Not having ever done something this intense I wasn't sure how I'd like it but let me tell you, if you don't "dispatch" the pig the dogs will do it for you. They're bred to hunt these pigs down. We hunted near Crystal City Texas which is about 16 miles from Mexico. The sow in this pic weighed about 125 pounds.  We hunted on an 880 acre ranch.  Saw tons of deer, doves, turkey and ducks too.

Can I ask how much a hunt like that costs? PM it to me if you'd rather.
