isn't there a drying period before they can be scored? Officially?

60 days for the drying period, and that starts the day all tissue is removed from the skull cap, not the day it was killed or even the antlers cut off.  The skull cap must be completely void of tissue but doesn't have to be boiled clean.  A tip I use it bring a kettle to a rolling boil on the stove, then slowly pour it over the skull cap after you've skinned it.  This will essentially cook anything left and it will just pick off or brush loose with an old toothbrush or soft wire brush.

That is one amazing bull!  Congratulations all around!!

Hmm, do you know the measurements on the bull?  See if you can get them posted.  I did it in my head like this:

Palm width:  9+9
Palm Length:  28+28
Outside spread: 50
mass:  7+7
Points:  21
Total:  159

I'm probably a tad off on the palm width and length?  It's a huge bull that I don't think anyone should pass.  I just like scoring them and seeing what they come out at.

I don't know the measurements, all I know is when they were packing up camp and official B&C scorer stopped by.

Brian, it's a freakin small world!  My brother gets a lot of work from Steve (guy on the right) and told me about this bull on friday!  I wondered if there wasn't some small possibility you were talking about the same bull...  These guys are good guys for sure and a big congrats to them!
