Saw this today in our neighborhood
« on: May 31, 2013, 06:26:41 PM »
Was going for a walk around the neighborhood tonight.  Saw this guy in a lot next to a house.  Walked up to about 20 yards to take the picture.  I snap the pic and he starts strutting towards me drumming a spitting at me.  He actually started chasing me trying to peck me.  Heck I was less that a foot away from him.  Guy that lived next to lot said the turkey was found by his neighbor with a arrow through it and fixed him up.  3 other people stopped and chased all of them.  Never knew a turkey could be so agressive.

I know but the people around there are treating it like a pet.  I thought about grabbing my bow but didn't want to raise discontent.  That thing had easily 1" spurs on him and about a 8"+ beard.

So what are you going to do.  Have pissed off neighbors because you terminated the neighborhood mascott, or just let it be for now?

In a previous house I was in, I've had a scenereo smiliar to this before.  I chose the path of keeping the peace in the neighborhood.

I just let it be but I think since I am most likely moving to Enumclaw it was a dumb move.
