Speed goats
« on: June 02, 2013, 12:17:22 PM »
Anyone see or hear anything about the pronghorns that were brought to Washington? I remember they brought like 100 up and wasn't sure if they were going to bring more and how they were doing, or where they went.

We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

And a few have made their way off the rez.  Population is slowly building. I think I remember a thread about a buck killed on the highway a fair distance from the rez last year.
Don't worry, soon enough you will get the chance to spend $13 year to never get drawn for another OIL tag.... :chuckle:

There was three moving around the area north of Anatone and then over to Peola a couple weeks ago.  Not sure if they were from the Yakima or Oregon but we had antelope in Asotin County!

That is the first I have heard of pronghorns in that area.  I am at a loss where they could have come from...  too far from Yakima, and I am not aware of any goats anywhere near that part of Oregon or Idaho.  It would be cool to see a population crop up in our corner.

I think you're right.

Let's give the guy a break. After all, he's from Newport. Makes sense that he doesn't know the difference between I90 and I84.

However, he DOES know the difference between male moose poop and female moose poop.

There's always been goats on the OR side. See them by the depot quite a bit. Here's some on our place south of Pendleton from this last weekend.

We even have a couple herds living here around La Grande.

I have seen the goats south of Pendelton several times.  I can usually spot at least a couple on the way to Ukiah.

I don't think they swim much. Can't hardly get them to cross a fence. If they liked water we woulda had them in WA a while ago.
